The social media giant Facebook has hiked up its video services with original shows, interactive game shows, polls, and quizzes.
On Wednesday it announced that it had set up grounds to roll its worldwide video services. Howbeit, the services are active in the United States for over a year. “We designed the product not just in a mindless consumption but in order to get people engaged,” – said the Vice President of Facebook Fidji Simo. Facebook introduced a watch amid a shift in video viewing tastes that was too different from the traditional watching habits. It is also distinct than video services offered by Netflix, Hulu as well as professional user content on YouTube.
“Contents that we fund are a very small part of the contents available on Watch,” – added Simo. The company is looking forward to featuring the videos that are made the users which would engage more users increasing the watch time. Facebook had also researched and developed tools that would aid the video creators integrate ads in their videos without much hassle.
Furthermore, new formats of videos have been announced by Facebook. These would include quizzes, polls and game shows. The information came after the social media giant released the news of broadcasting the Spanish top flight division football matches for free in the Indian subcontinent, and Champions League matches in Latin America.
