Instagram is appearing to be one of the most popular social media platforms that have been engaging millions of users. Surprisingly the Facebook-owned Instagram already runs on an auto-advance feature in the section tagged “Videos You Might Like” found in the ‘Explore’ section. The feature automatically plays another video when the last one is finished.
The Image Sharing platform Instagram is testing its new feature named ‘Tap to Advance’. The feature lets the users tap as a replacement of the obsolete feature that required the user to scroll through the posts. As per media reports the social networking company’s new feature ‘tap to advance’ allows the users in the Explore section of the application.
“We’re always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and bring you closer to the people and things you love,”- said an Instagram spokesperson on Thursday.
“Videos You Might Like” section of Explore featured on the Instagram app already packs the auto-advance feature. This automatically plays the next video once the previous one is finished.
“As for whether this could come to the main feed, an Instagram spokesperson said it is not something they’re actively thinking about right now,” – The report said further.
The feature was later introduced by Snapchat after it collected the user-experience from the app users.
